PSYCHOACOUSTIC CINEMA PERFORMANCE
AS PART OF THE EXTINCTION PROJECT
September 18-23, 2018, a sound installation explored the James Turrell Skyspace, The Color Inside at University of Texas, Austin, Student Activity Center
We continued the Extinction Project by abstracting the notion of "endangered environment". The performance took place in an enclosed space where the natural world and its soundscape are dramatically filtered by walls forming an ellipsoid room. The only visual and audible connection to the outside world is through an unreachable skylight. a

4-bike quadraphonic rides with composed sound pieces that address a pressing topic in local or global wildlife habitat ecology. Source material ranged from field recordings to traditional and synthesized musical sources.
Residency of Patrick Mathews-Halmrast
Rolling Ryot was contacted by visual and sound artist Patrick Mathew-Halmrast. He expressed interest in the Ryots' work and suggested he visit Austin on a short-term composition and performance residency on the theme of "water". We accepted the challenge and enjoyed hosting Patrick as we watched him generate three incredible pieces which were performed in a series of both static and rolling events.
